Wendy Whiteley’s Garden – water colour sketches

This Australian garden was created by Wendy Whiteley over a 14 year period, still on-going, after the death of her partner the painter Brett Whiteley.

It rises up from a railway cutting which runs along Lavender Bay, just north of the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge, and beyond the Luna Park Fairground.

It is a refuge, a dense, terraced fascinating garden, freely open to all, where I spent many happy hours in the autumn of 2006.
